Terms & Conditions

Course Fees

A deposit of £200 is payable at time of booking for the Open Water and £150 for Advanced and Rescue course with any balance due 2 weeks before course completion. 


Deposits are binding and non-refundable. 


Cancellation, Late Payments & Refunds

You should be certain that you meet all the medical criteria for the course of your choice prior to studying the manual or using other materials, since once these are used a refund can only be made on the course fees less £200 to cover any used manuals or materials and other administration, and provided cancellation is received in writing no less than 7 days prior to course commencement. 


Late payments will incur a further charge of ten pounds per seven days.   


Any correspondence regarding late payments will incur a charge of five pounds per correspondence. 


Two breaches of a repayment scheme will lead to mandatory payment of all course fees in addition to all incurred charges in full. 


Diving is weather dependent; hence we reserve the right to change the dive site or dive date at short notice. Scuba Wales, is not liable for any loss due to cancellation as a result of inappropriate weather conditions


Changing course dates

Should the original course date not be convenient, it may be possible to transfer dates once at no extra charge.  However, subsequent postponement or cancellation will incur loss of all fees paid. 

Administration and Self Study


You will be required to complete and sign various course documentation before each course including, but not limited to a course learning agreement, a safe diving practices statement, a liability release and a medical form.  Copies of these may be obtained ahead of time from Scuba Wales  Additionally, you may be required to complete pre-course work in readiness for review. Your booking deems that you agree to submit this pre-course work by the relevant deadline, and also agree to arrive for sessions by the designated time.


Inclusions & Exclusions

Course Materials & Certification are included in your course fee. 

Divemaster Registration Fees are not included and are payable directly to SDI/PADI.  

Equipment and gas fills are not provided for any course other than Experience Programmes, and Open Water Diver.

Equipment hire for other courses is available at a reduced charge of £25 per day plus any additional air fills . 

We must stress that you are liable for the cost for repair or replacement of equipment you damage or lose during your course or during a period of hire.  

Course fees do not include travel, entrance fees, or accommodation. Neither do they include any boat fees.

Centre rules & regulations

Diving can be dangerous if the correct methods are not used, sometimes it is fatal.
All divers have the responsibility for their own safety.
Instructors, dive guides and diving 'Buddys' have a duty of care for those who are diving with them.
Divers are reminded that they have the responsibility for the first actions to effect a successful rescue.


  • On arrival at the centre, please ensure you complete a Visitor’s Declaration Form.
  • Please make sure you read and understand the information about the centre and the depth of the water, which is displayed, on notice boards around the centre. Staff will be more than happy to help clarify any points.
  • You must be no younger than 10 years old to dive at the centre. All junior participants / children must be closely supervised by adults at all times and never left unsupervised.
  • The centre risk assessment is available from the dive office. You are encouraged to consult this document and always to dive fully in accordance with the safe diving practices of your diving agency (e.g. PADI, BSAC, SAA, TDI/PSI etc.).
  • Always dive within your qualification level.
  • Divers are requested to plan their dives carefully.
  • Solo diving is not permitted. If you become separated from your buddy ascend without delay and notify a member of staff with immediate effect.
  • Yellows SMBs should only be used in emergencies.
  • Wear a buoyancy aid or suit at all times when in the water or on the pontoons.
  • Underwater training platforms are provided for training purposes. Non trainees should be aware that students are using these areas and may wish to plan dives avoiding such areas at busy times (weekends).
  • Diving in cold water has resulted in many preventable incidents at freshwater sites due to regulator freezing and divers wearing inadequate thermal protection. The daily water temperature is available on the site map.
  • Speak to any of the centre staff if you are unsure about anything on the site.

Emergency Arrangements

First-aid, rescue and emergency procedures have been put in place at the centre. 


The Centre staff will make every effort to respond as quickly as they can to any emergency on the site both in and out of the water. We also conduct emergency rescue and casualty evacuation drills periodically to test the effectiveness of our arrangements. 


Any incidents or dangerous occurrences WILL be reported to the relevant enforcing authority in accordance with our statutory duties. In the event of an accident alert the staff immediately.

On the surface. Raise the alarm at once by blowing a whistle, shouting and waving.

If you see anyone underwater with a problem wherever possible, help them to the surface and raise the alarm at once by blowing a whistle, shouting and waving.

At the waters edge if you see anyone in trouble, raise the alarm at once by blowing a whistle, shouting and waving. While someone else alerts the centre staff, stay where you are, monitoring the person in the water until the person in trouble has been reached. Please then follow directions given by the centre staff.


DO NOT RUN, OR BLOW WHISTLES unless there is an emergency.

  • The centre is used entirely at my own risk, and that the site owners accept no responsibility for loss or damage to individuals or their property.


DIVING CAN BE DANGEROUS IF THE CORRECT METHODS ARE NOT USED, SOMETIMES FATALLY. ALL DIVERS HAVE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY. INSTRUCTORS, DIVE GUIDES, AND DIVING 'BUDDYS' HAVE A DUTY OF CARE FOR THOSE WHO ARE DIVING WITH THEM.
