scuba wales dive centre

Glynneath Lakes

With sole exclusivity for diving at Glynneath, we share the lake with Clear Water Activity Centre and additionally manage watersports on the site. The dive site is a unique prospect - fresh water, fed from the ground. These man made lakes (former quarries) dive to a depth of 12 meters, and never freeze. The ideal resource for our courses, as well as visiting divers to explore and practice!

Our flooded quarry lake offers an ideal solution to suit all abilities of scuba diver. The waters have many underwater attractions.

The lake has highly trained staff and all the facilities you would expect from an inland scuba diving centre.

Beneath the surface

A number of objects are below the water, such as boats, canoes, training platforms at 3 and 6 meters. Curios sit and await passing divers here and there. Shortly we will introduce a vehicle for training, more platforms and an aircraft fuselage.

Accommodation

For those wanting to spend a few days scuba diving, SVL Leisure Ltd have onsite accommodation in the form of pods. Sleeping up to four adults, pods are the ultimate eco cabin; double-glazed, secure, cosy and warm whatever the time of year. A low cost alternative to hotels and B&Bs, our pods truly offer all year round camping, and the best bit, no pitching a tent in the rain! To book, click HERE!

Food & Drink

On site, managed by SVL Leisure Ltd, you'll find a fully licensed bar, with snacks, alongside an events marquee, which is additionally used for dive briefings, meetings and the such. You're welcome to bring freestanding BBQ's on site, as well as arrange offsite catering.

social

Divers are friends for life...

There's a huge social element to life at SCUBA Wales. Divers, their Dive Buddies, Students, Visitors are all welcome to join us socially at one of our dive gatherings, be it at the pool, or our dive lake, or on a dive trip to some far off dive site. We regularly meet to dive, then BBQ or eat out!

Dive trips

Regular dive trips are organised on a chartered or member owned vessel. A real chance to gain dive experience, and become part of the team! Be warned - there's no such thing as a passenger on a boat!

Our site

Our dive site in Glynneath, South Wales is the hub for all local dive activity. Here we enjoy use of a licensed bar (After diving!), camping and pod facilities, changing rooms and ablutions, all provided by SVL Leisure Ltd who share the site with us.
